Not only will a properly set up instrument sound it\u2019s best, it will also feel the most comfortable to play.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a list of items which sometimes need adjustment.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tuning pegs<\/strong> \u2013 Do they turn easily, or slip? Have they worn too far into the pegbox?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nut<\/strong> \u2013 Is the nut too high or low? Are the string grooves too deep? Do the string spaces work well for you?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fingerboard<\/strong> \u2013 Does it need resurfacing? Is the radius correct? Does the board have enough \u201cscoop\u201d, or too much? Is it becoming unglued?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bridge<\/strong> \u2013 Are the strings the correct height above the fingerboard?\u00a0Is the quality and cut of the bridge giving the best performance?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tailpiece<\/strong> \u2013 Is the tailgut too long?\u00a0Does the tailpiece\u00a0rattle or buzz?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Soundpost<\/strong> \u2013 Is it in\u00a0the correct position, and have the correct tension and fit to help create the best sound?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the humid months\u00a0you may notice your instrument goes a bit dead and unresponsive. This can usually be corrected with either a soundpost adjustment, or new slightly longer post.
